This session focuses on blending interactive activities with core Maths and Science learning. And crucially, how to ensure the academic links are always front and centre for even the most reluctant students. Workshop attendees will engage in a ‘Pit-stop Challenge’ to explore inverse proportion and its practical limitations. Therefore, experiencing first-hand how to effectively integrate academic content into dynamic projects. Leave inspired to make STEM education both impactful and memorable for learners aged 11-16.

  1. To take away key strategies to ensure that the practical side of STEM teaching always enhances the core academic learning and never results in Maths & Science being lost.
  2. To explore the evidence behind the deeper impact of project-based STEM teaching, and how to implement it.
  3. To find out why STEM teaching should always be answering the question: “when will I ever use this in real life?”.
