For over 10 years Jo has worked directly with Young Carers residing in Kent for the commissioned service, Imago. Following the success of securing a further contract last year, her new role within the organisation seeks to train schools, professionals and agencies on how to identify and support Young Carers, to learn of their rights, what makes them vulnerable as well as the impact their caring role has on their education, social lives and wellbeing.

Session Information

This session will explore who Young Carers are and the provision that can be implemented within schools. There are thought to be three young carers per classroom across the UK. Now part of the school census, it is vital that young carers are identified early and supported to help improve their attendance, attainment and wellbeing.
