About the Speaker

Sue joined the Widgit team in January 2018 having previously been an Advisory Teacher with the Communication, Learning and Autism Support Service (CLASS) in East Sussex for over 16 years. Sue was also a Special Educational Needs Co-Ordinator in an East Sussex Primary School for many years and has always been an avid user and supporter of Widgit Symbols and software. Recently Sue has presented at conferences throughout the UK, written a number of published articles and appeared on SEN podcasts.

Session Information

In this session, delegates will be introduced to how poor language skills can impact upon behaviour in the classroom and how the use of visuals can support understanding and improve pupil engagement. Resource ideas will be presented, including ‘behaviour bingo’ successfully implemented by Charles Dickens Primary School in London.
